Hear the Overture
Listen to the symphony of unremitting misery/ This crescendo a mystery of pain and history/ No nuance in the nuisance of age and nostalgia/ No cure for the brokenheartedness or fibromyalgia/ For a symphony of suffering has no easy listeners

Nothing But Curses
Oh errant knight, pernicious paladin/ You are yellow/ Not a hero fighting an invasion of Saladin/ You are a playtime soldier, a fantasist policeman/ But real murderer/ Too afraid to battle those who could resist/ But happy to pick off those so close you could not miss/ No challenge to single combat of real men/ Just blowing up those who would have called you friend/ Making war on the innocent and meek/ Too scared to contest those who are not weak/ I have a feather for you

Stilling That Voice
Silencing the summer serenade/ Oh broken branch/ Drenching all that appealed/ And flooding the field/ Could not keep that promise made/ Cracked melody/ Shattered sullen serenade/ Was that gift squandered?

Life's Great Desire
There was a time when I was younger that I felt a certain hunger that has never gone away.
Stand Fast Liberty
America spent her last care less day/ Enjoying the bounty of summer/ But so much beset her that those who had met her/ Knew she must wake from her slumber/ For freedom is fleeting when tyrants arise/ As patriots prepare a little surprise for those who would harm liberty's enterprise/ They hide not in shadow/ They walk not at night/ And dying to defeat them is the hero's delight/ The martyrs are ready for the cause is just/ Time to trample the despot into his pit of dust

Content with Consent
Ever have the feeling that certain politicians are not fond of the consent of the governed and do not mind a little rape?

Acres of Shame
Jumped or fell from grace/ Such a loss of face/ For an individual or a nation,/ It is the same situation/ Was Eden a place/ Or just a state of mind?/ Selling salvation at the dollar store/ But in the long run, it costs so much more

What About Her?
Nobody ever cared about her/ All they ever did was doubt her/ Will it ever be the same/ Now that everyone shouts her name.

Just a Fact
You can not expect moral clarity from immoral men. We are being led for a fall by the fallen.
The Neither Nors
An attempt to dissect the Obama voter, not literally, of course, only to understand the mindset and motivation of those who cast the votes that might ultimately destroy our nation: Some voted entirely out of racial preference or just as idiotically, to prove to themselves they were not racists. Some who love the dole voted to feather their own nests. Some like the class envy and redistribution game. A friend with the elevated title educator who earned high degrees at the University of Podunk or in this case Podunk State University and who is so liberated that he says he feels no need to defend his liberal bona fides discussed with me his intended vote way back before the 2008 election. He said he was casting with Obama because of his "fresh ideas" which I characterized as warmed over spread the wealth socialism. He claimed McCain was as withered and old as his selfish Republican ideas while Obama was "young and telegenic". I retorted, "Self-interest is not selfishness" and that 'young and telegenic' meant he might as well be voting for Lindsay Lohan. Well, my erudite buddy and his candidate won, but few would disagree now that America lost- big time.

This Life Unlived
No bells tolled/ No gun salute/ The earth's rotation did not stall/ For that little life unlived/ That little dream undreamt/ The little hands unheld/ That expectation, that promise unmet/ The unrealized future of a day that never came
The Comfort Zone
There is a world outside ours: The seen, the unseen, the obscene. Soon I shall be splitting this scene for greener pastures without taxing masters where life is free as it was meant to be. Costa Rica or Alaska- which one to depart to- where can I find freedom faster?
Out of Reach
The little life never lived because today was just out of reach/ This life extinguished before it starts/ A willing choice to tear out our hearts/ Or cruel kismet under sullen stars/ An unrequited life trapped in Fallopian tube/ My tiny son, our hearts' desire/ Never filled with creation's fire/ That little lump of cells/ That blood never becoming our eternal tonic/ Three years ago today/ What else is there to say- I am sorry Susan

Few Little Hints
Try to be quality conscious and not label conscious. Be more aware of value than cost. You will not count your money while you are mouldering in your grave, so enjoy it now. I have known rich people who are miserable but they are never miserable because they are rich. If you can't make it here, give it a try somewhere else. Four out of five dentists seem to have been dead wrong about mercury in fillings. America has plenty of flaws but enough good remains that I kiss the ground and thank the Lord that unlike some others, I am a citizen of the USA natural born. Of course, I thought I was a virgin birth, but Mom clued me in that she is not Mary. You now have to fight for your right to worship. Nothing is free- most especially not time. Fear can be conquered but America can not be.

Touch of Kabbalah
You need not dwell on the tragic when you can make this day magic/ For you were made for a higher thing/ Than the doldrums dark days bring/ If you stay in the light/ You can grab it/ Because the Lord wants you to have it
Never Give Up
When you're feeling unappealing/ Sends you reeling/ Feeling blue/ Not much you think you can do/ But sit and stew/ When you're feeling unappealing/ Sends you reeling/ Sad but true/ Like you're caged in a zoo/ What should you do/ But start anew

Gauging Our Fate
A revolt of the soul/ When once the entrails of birds were inspected/ Now it is to various websites we are directed/ To figure out what is expected/ While the present is neglected/ We used to seek angels in the cloud/ Now we hear pitched aloud that data is stored there/ Guess the cherubs left them barren/ A techie wouldn't bother to check- he'd consider it a fool's errand.
Nothing Without You
What's the use of being sad anymore, sad anymore, sad anymore/ It's true/ What's the use of being sad anymore, sad anymore, sad anymore/ It's true/ It's you I adore, you I adore, you I adore/ It's true/ Why be blue anymore, blue anymore, blue anymore/ Just cause I can't have you anymore/ It's true

Ponder the Imponderables
Can Bill Gates live beyond his means? Why does most everyone eat too much at an all-you-can-eat buffet? Is there life after Google? How can there be such a thing as a giant shrimp? Why do they sterilize the needles before a lethal injection? Do they mourn the Fourth of July at Windsor Castle thinking oh what might have been?
